Job description

Job Title: Swim Instructor - Bayer YMCA

Join us at Gateway Region YMCA as a Swim Instructor.

Responsibilities:

1. Instruct swimming lessons according to YMCA guidelines, preparing lesson plans and supporting members and participants in achieving their goals.
2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, members, and colleagues; facilitate connections among participants and families; encourage parent or caregiver involvement.
3. Convey information about aquatics programs and schedules; refer participants and families to other programs as appropriate.
4. Maintain necessary records such as attendance and progress reports.
5. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, including emergency and safety procedures; complete incident and accident reports as needed.
6. Organize and store class equipment; report damaged equipment.
7. Train and supervise class aides as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate swim instructor skills according to YMCA standards.
