Job summary

YMCA of Concord is seeking a Swim Instructor to join our aquatics team. Teach swim lessons to participants of all ages, follow the YMCA curriculum, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

As part of a supportive, team-oriented setting, you will receive paid training and opportunities for leadership development, with flexible weekday/evening/weekend shifts and potential advancement within the YMCA.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong swimming skills and comfort in the water.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with diverse age groups.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to participants of all ages and skill levels.
• Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
• Follow YMCA curriculum to support skill progression and water safety.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and constructive feedback.
• Build positive relationships with swimmers, families, and staff.
• Track participant progress and complete required documentation.
• Assist with pool safety and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Attend required trainings and communicate scheduling needs.
