What will you be doing?

Swim Instructors are responsible for ensuring the success of swim lessons by:

• Making sure you and your team are set up for success at every lesson by preparing your class materials and reviewing your lesson themes.
• Teaching 4 swimmers per class using a well-established and proven curriculum of water safety, swim, and swimplay skills (6 swimmers in infant, parent-and-me lessons). Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is followed consecutively for a 4-hour shift.
• Communicating progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers at the end of each class.
• Lifeguarding and supervising lessons as needed.

You'll guide new swimmers through their first days and support their progression from mini and junior swimmers to gliders and pros!

What will be expected of you?

• Availability for set lesson groups (no half-shifts or mid-shifts). Scheduled times are:
  • 4:00-8:00 Monday through Friday
  • 8:30-3:30 Saturday
  • 8:30-3:30 Sunday
• Arrive 15 minutes early for setup and pre-shift meetings.
• Work the same scheduled days weekly (e.g., every Monday from 4:00-8:00).
• Be patient & genuine — help each student at their own pace and bring your personality to lessons.
• Have strong communication skills to work with children, parents, and team members.
• Maintain high-quality work, embody Goldfish’s mission, and create a golden experience.
• Make ethical decisions, treat everyone with integrity, compassion, and trust.
