Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Swim Instructor to lead instructional classes and uphold safety standards for participants of all ages. You will engage with families, adhere to established curriculum, and model positive YMCA behavior.

The role requires aligning with aquatic policies, maintaining certifications, and contributing to branch events and drills as part of a strong community program.

Qualifications

• Experience in competitive swimming or teaching lessons preferred.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must obtain YMCA YSL certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to relate positively to children and adults.
• Ability to perform all lifeguard-related duties and respond to aquatic emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead swim instruction to develop skills within prescribed curriculum.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all participants.
• Greet participants and learn their names; communicate with parents/guardians.
• Assist with progress reports, mid-session cards, greeting cards and birthdays.

Embark on a Journey of Impactful AdventureThe Swim Instructor is responsible for assisting with the instruction of our swim lesson program while providing excellent member service and engagement of program participants.
