Job summary

ONELIFE FITNESS in Newport News, VA invites a passionate Swim Instructor to join our team. You will deliver private, semi-private, and group lessons for learners of all ages, focusing on safety, fun, and skill development in a supportive environment.

The role is full-time and requires CPR/AED, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends. We provide ongoing training, in-house certification, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Swim instruction or coaching experience is preferred.
• First-aid knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver private, semi-private, and group swim lessons.
• Tailor instruction to each swimmer's goals and skill level.
• Maintain a clean, safe pool deck and follow club policies.
• Promote programs and complete required paperwork and trainings.
• Work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

We're looking for a Swim Instructor to deliver fun, safe, and effective private, semi-private, and group lessons for learners of all ages and levels.

What you'll do

• Deliver the Ultimate Fitness Experience to every member, every time.
• Tailor instruction to each swimmer's goals and skill level; answer questions before/after lessons.
• Create an educational, welcoming vibe while enforcing pool & club policies.
• Keep the deck spotless-reset equipment and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Promote club programs and complete required paperwork, meetings, and trainings.
• Follow all service, facilities, and emergency procedures; flex to early mornings/evenings/weekends.

What you bring

• Strong swimming and teaching skills; first-aid know-how.

• Comfortable building relationships quickly and learning new skills.

Position Requirements

• CPR/AED required.

• WSI, Lifeguard, and CPO certifications preferred.
