Job Summary: The Swim Instructor is responsible for conducting swim performance, clinics, special events, and programs for the members and guests of the Drayson Center. Provides instruction for children and adults through private and group lessons. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Minimum one year of related experience as a head swim professional or instructor required.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of rules associated with the sport being officiated. Understanding of sports concepts and recreational rules. Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English professionally. Proficiency with computer, printer, and software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment. Effective communication skills, ability to work calmly under pressure, collaborate, and accept direction. Good telephone communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Visual and auditory acuity for the workplace requirements.
Licensures and Certifications: Swim Coach certification from USA Swimming or the American Red Cross, or Water Safety Instructor certification from the American Red Cross required.
