A growing swim school in Germantown seeks dedicated instructors to teach children water safety and swimming techniques. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work with children effectively, and have a high school diploma or GED. Qualifications

• Ability to instruct and evaluate students on water safety and swim techniques.
• Must pass background examinations included with training.
• Swimming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides swim instruction based on the curriculum.
• Enforces safety rules to prevent accidents.
• Evaluates students' progress and completes paperwork.
• Interacts with parents on students' swim skills development.
• Maintains cleanliness and storage of pool equipment.
• Uses problem solving and creative thinking to resolve challenges.
• Inspects pool areas before/after class and reports issues to management.
• Maintains and stores pool equipment; places/removes lane lines.
• Reports accidents and completes required documentation.
• Performs Deck Teacher duties as needed.
• Performs light cleaning duties as needed and attends workshops.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Employer.

Summary

Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
2. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. Makes rescues and administers first aid when necessary.
3. Evaluates students’ progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
4. Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
5. Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction.
6. Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
7. Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Reports issues to management as appropriate.
8. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment. Places and removes lane lines.
9. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required documentation and paperwork.
10. Performs Deck Teacher duties as needed.
11. Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion.
12. Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
13. Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Education / Experience

High school diploma or GED is preferred. Swimming experience preferred.

Work Environment

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
