Responsibilities

• Provides group and one-on-one swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Evaluates student progress and submits daily reports.
• Acts as a Goldfish Swim School ambassador with parents/guardians on the development of students' swim skills.
• When lifeguarding, maintains attentive position in the pool area at all times.
• Makes rescues and administers first aid/CPR when necessary.
• Provides assistance to students and teachers as needed.
• Enforces safety rules and reporting procedures.
• Attends workshops and in-service training outside regular working hours.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Employer.

Job summary:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Preferred qualifications:

• CPR/AED or Lifeguard certification, if you are not already certified it will be provided during training.
• Experience working as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor and/or childcare provider.

Work environment:

Swim instructors spend the majority of their working time in the pool with students. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
