Job Details:
Job Title: Swim Instructor
Reports to: Deck Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary:
Instruct students on water safety and swim techniques based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Provide swim instruction following the curriculum.
- Enforce safety rules, prevent accidents, and administer first aid when needed.
- Evaluate student progress and complete reports promptly.
- Communicate with parents/guardians about student development.
- Represent GSS positively to ensure parental satisfaction.
- Use problem-solving skills to address student challenges.
- Inspect pool areas and report issues.
- Manage and store pool equipment properly.
- Report accidents and complete documentation.
- Perform Deck Teacher duties and light cleaning as needed.
- Attend mandatory workshops and training outside regular hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience as a lifeguard, instructor, coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider preferred.
- Swimming experience is a plus.
Certifications:
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications required (training available).
Work Environment:
Exposure to heat, humidity, and moderate noise levels. Each franchise operates independently, setting wages and benefits individually.
