Power Wellness is a pioneer in the medical fitness industry, focusing on customized approaches to medical fitness center development and management. Their turnkey method simplifies the development and management process, allowing clients to focus on other areas of their business.

Position Overview:

The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing members with individualized instruction tailored to their needs and skill levels. The role includes teaching group lessons and assisting with various clinics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead individual and small group swim classes for members and guests of various fitness levels.
  2. Teach within the standards of specialty certifications.
  3. Understand contraindicated exercises to ensure a safe and effective exercise approach.
  4. Assess clients' needs through evaluations of their strength and water ability.
  5. Respond to and schedule all requests for swim instruction.
  6. Suggest new programs and organize monthly swim promotions.
  7. Maintain industry certifications and meet continuing education requirements.
  8. Be accountable for scheduling by avoiding missed sessions and seeking substitutes when necessary.
  9. Remain flexible and accommodating regarding center hours, work schedules, and appointment scheduling for prospects and members.
  10. Meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary for job performance.
  11. Demonstrate knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and communicate confidently with EMS.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience in instructing or coaching swim required.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
  • Current Lifeguard certification from a recognized organization required, if mandated by state law.
  • Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.
  • USA Swim Coaching Level 1 certification is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work positively with members.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain professionalism and control.
