The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is the core amenity to one of the most successful, master planned communities in Texas, Cordillera Ranch. This 9,100-acre oasis in the Texas Hill Country is comprised of 7 separate clubs whose goal is to create unique and memorable member experiences. The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is a unique facility in every right. The Cordillera Ranch Aquatics staff are expected to uphold and grow this culture daily to ensure a satisfying member and staff environment. Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Aquatics and Swimming Pool Manager, the Swim Instructor at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch is enthusiastic, confident, motivated, and qualified to teach both group and private lessons, and assist with other special programs as assigned.

Position Type: Part-time/Seasonal

Compensation: $35 per hour of instruction, commission-based

Lessons are scheduled by appointment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Follow designed swimming lesson curriculum
• Set goals for individual progression
• Lead and motivate participants
• Communicate effectively with members and staff
• Evaluate participant performance and progress
• Educate swimmers on water safety and lifesaving principles
• Teach current and industry-leading strokes and techniques
• Maintain a neat and hazard-free pool or training area
• Respond to emergencies in tandem with the facility safety team

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of swim lesson teaching experience or competitive swimming background at a high school level or higher
• In-depth knowledge of all four competitive strokes
• Good knowledge of health and nutrition
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Ability to obtain Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification from the American Red Cross before summer season
• Demonstrable swimming skills
• Ability to work outdoors in poolside conditions up to 95% of the time, exposed to sunlight, wet and humid conditions, and temperatures exceeding 100°F or as low as 50°F
• Capable of spending long periods in the water
• Coaching or Swim Instructor certifications from an accredited organization are preferred
• Minimum age: 16 years old
