Job summary

Samena Swim Club in Bellevue, WA seeks a part-time swim instructor to teach group lessons for ages 2-13 and follow the club's curriculum. Training is provided for those without prior swim lesson experience, and certification in Red Cross first aid/CPR/AED is required or will be provided during orientation.

Under supervision, you will deliver safe, engaging lessons, maintain pool safety, and provide excellent customer service to members and guests.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross certifications (or equivalent).
• Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED required.
• Training provided if uncertified.
• Strong communication skills essential.
• Previous swimming experience preferred but training provided.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to the standard taught in instructor training.
• Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Follow emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency.
• Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas.
• Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests using the facility.
• Ensure safe, quality swim lessons for all assigned students.
• Write quality reports cards for swim lesson students.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director and Aquatics Program Manager, a swim instructor will teach group lessons to students aged 2-13 and follow Samena's swim curriculum. Swim instructors will use their swimming knowledge, along with the knowledge given to them during instructor training to ensure a fun and safe swimming environment for all students.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to the standard taught in instructor training
• Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards in a friendly and helpful manner
• Follow emergency action plan and procedures established in the event of an emergency
• Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas
• Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests using the facility
• Ensure safe, quality swim lessons for all assigned students
• Write quality reports cards for swim lesson students
• Other duties as assigned
