Job summary

British Swim School is seeking a passionate Swim Instructor to teach lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old, using our progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build confidence and work with swimmers of varying abilities, focusing on survival swimming techniques to reduce drowning.

You will work at one or two Beaverton-area locations with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and you’ll help foster a safe and supportive

Qualifications

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Cheerful, Fun and Enthusiastic personality.
• Available to work on Fridays, Saturdays and one other day as needed.
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Minimum 14 hours of work per week that may include evenings on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle, and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

Your Typical Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training).
• Customer service skills are desirable.
• Available to work on Friday and Saturday Shifts

Expected to work from one or two of the following locations.

24 Hour Tanasbourne (1265 NW Waterhouse Ave, Beaverton, OR 97006) location:
Thursdays & Fridays: 3:15 PM - 8:15 PM
Saturdays & Sundays: 9:15 AM - 2:45 PM

Aloft Hillsboro-Beaverton (1705 NE Amberglen Pkwy, Hillsboro, OR 97006) location:
Mon, Tue, Wed: 3:15 PM - 7:45 PM

24 Hours Hillsboro (6095 SE Tualatin Valley Hwy, Hillsboro, OR 97123) location:
Wed, Thu, Fri: 3:15 PM - 7:45 PM
Sun: 9 AM - 2:15 PM
