Job summary

British Swim School is hiring to teach swimming with a focus on safety and fun. You will lead lessons, follow established standards, and maintain certifications while adapting to a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Comfortable in and around water; strong swimming skills are a plus.
• Must complete all required British Swim School training and testing.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Aquatics Manager or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons per British Swim School standards and maintains certifications.
• Works a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Operates in a water-based environment for the duration of shifts.

Your Typical Responsibilities

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-8pm), weekends (8am-1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality.
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics‑specific training and testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)
