Job summary

Wolf Creek YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater Toledo, is seeking a Part-Time Swim Team Head Coach to lead and develop our swim team with energy and enthusiasm.

You'll coach, train, and condition swimmers, enforce safety and YMCA rules, and help athletes shine at meets by assigning events and guiding technique. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Competitive swimming background essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Organized and detail-oriented; capable of classifying swimmers and assigning events.

Responsibilities

Your day as a Swim Team Coach

As a Part-Time Swim Team Coach at the Y, you'll take on the exciting role of coaching, training, and conditioning our talented swim team members. Your expertise will guide swimmers through critical techniques, ensuring they thrive in a supportive environment. You'll be responsible for enforcing all rules set forth by the YMCA of Greater Toledo, maintaining a safe and competitive atmosphere. With your keen eye for talent, you'll classify swimmers and assign them to appropriate events during meets, ensuring each athlete has the opportunity to shine. To excel as a Part-Time Swim Team Coach at the Y, a blend of essential skills and experiences is necessary. A high school diploma is required, coupled with a solid competitive swimming background that equips you with first-hand knowledge of the sport. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital, allowing you to inspire and motivate team members while fostering a positive team culture. Additionally, being organized and detail-oriented will help you effectively classify swimmers and manage event assignments. Familiarity with training software or tools can enhance your coaching strategies, ensuring athletes achieve their personal best.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
