Job summary

Marcus Jewish Community Center Of Atl is seeking an experienced Swim Team Coach (full or part time) to lead our competitive and recreational programs. The Head Coach will design training, manage meets, and work closely with the Aquatics Director to advance swimmers of all ages.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and a commitment to high standards of sportsmanship. Certifications with USA Swimming and ASCA are expected, and evening/morning/weekend availability is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Prior experience coaching swim teams.
• Proficiency in competitive swimming techniques.
• Demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship and respect.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement training programs for swimmers of all ages and skills.
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and staff.
• Coordinate with other coaches for a consistent training approach.
• Evenings, mornings and weekends may be required.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team environment and attend staff trainings.
• Schedule, manage and attend all swim meets.
• Fulfill additional duties as directed by the Aquatics Director.

Responsibilities

MJCCA is seeking an experienced Swim Team Coach (full or part time). This role encompasses coaching responsibilities, swim meet management, administrative tasks, and other duties delegated by the Aquatics Director. The Head Coach will play a pivotal role in advancing and nurturing both the competitive and the recreational swim team programs.

Essential Functions:

• As the Head Swim Team Coach, the primary objective is to design and implement training programs tailored to swimmers of various ages and skill levels, with a focus on coordinating practice sessions and training programs that prioritize athletic advancement and growth.
• Ensure effective communication with swimmers, parents, and fellow coaching staff.
• Closely with other coaching staff to maintain a consistent training approach across all age groups.
• Flexibility to work during evenings, mornings, and weekends in alignment with practice and swim meet schedules.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment.
• Attend required staff training and meetings.
• Schedule, manage, and attend all swim meets.
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as directed by the Aquatics Director.

Qualifications

• Profound expertise in competitive swimming techniques.
• Demonstrated capacity to uphold the highest standards of leadership, sportsmanship, and respect.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with program participants, parents, and members.
• Possession of all necessary coaching certifications (USA Swimming, ASCA).
• A high school diploma is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred.
