Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer for the Find My team in Cupertino. You will own complex feature development from design to release, collaborating with hardware, software, and privacy teams to deliver secure and reliable location features for hundreds of millions of users.

You will write robust Swift code, contribute to system UI, and drive architectural decisions while mentoring others in a fast-paced, startup-like environment at Apple.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of validated hands-on software engineering experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
• Strong Swift expertise including multithreading and non-blocking IO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of validated hands-on software engineering experience, with a proven track record of owning complex, end-to-end feature development — from requirements gathering and system design through release decisions and bug convergence — in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
• Ability to take ownership, identify requirements, prioritize and make progress in an environment with limited given input
• Strong Swift expertise - including but not limited to: Multithreading, non-blocking IO
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Ability to be in office Monday through Thursday

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of common data structures and basic graph algorithms
• Hands on experience writing strong object-oriented code including creating frameworks, modular and testable software
• Experience in C, C++
• Working knowledge of cryptography standards and protocols (e.g.. PKCS, KMIP, X.509, AES, KDF, CA)
• Experience in the AI/ML domain
• Very strong in leading others and hands-on in programming, system design, and problem solving
• Experience driving release decisions, scoping work, and driving bug convergence
• Experience in cross team collaboration and communication across multiple timezones
• Able to work in an ambiguous and highly interdependent work environment to get things done in an efficient and tactful way
• Ability to thrive in a multi-functional team on high-profile, critical projects
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $277,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
