Swedish Reviewer/Editor/Certifier, DOJ LSS

Summary: The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a qualified Reviewer/Editor/Certifier to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription, and other Linguistic Support Services (LSS). Activities include translating documents and media content, as well as court and deposition interpretation. Source materials involve legal, business, medical, scientific, financial, historical, geographical, and military terminology, often technical and specialized.

Description: The material to be translated or interpreted is legal in nature and may include various formats like electronic files, hard copies, audio, and video. Materials can range from complex technical reports to informal texts, all considered sensitive, requiring strict confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the required language within the past ten years.
• ILR 4 or equivalent score on language/translation tests.
• Resided in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of experience with law enforcement or legal departments.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Proficiency in formal, legal, diplomatic, and casual language modes, including slang and regionalisms.
• Knowledge of specialized terminology in both languages related to government roles and missions.
• Fluent in native language writing with professional command of the non-native language.
• Accurate translation preserving tone and register, adhering to ethics.
• Proficient in CAT tools, especially SDL Trados Studio.

Clearance: Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.

Location: Remote / NCR / Various CONUS Locations.

Travel: Possible travel required.
