Boots On: Here’s the Job

Operator Excellence is how we work: safe, efficient, dependable, and always improving. Our Operators take pride in delivering top‑quality work and keeping our customers running strong.

Responsibilities
  • Every morning will begin reviewing SCADA / Palantir checking alarms and doing reports.
  • You will travel between multiple sites, performing routine visits and visual inspections of pipelines, equipment, and overall site conditions to ensure everything is running safely and smoothly.
  • Out in the field, you’re the first line of defense—monitoring pressures, flow rates, and key data, while also performing critical pipeline operations such as valve inspections, block valve maintenance, leak checks, transfer pump operation, utility and pipeline locates, OneCall responses, and overseeing safe excavation work.
  • When equipment needs attention, you step in with hands‑on mechanical know‑how to tackle minor repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • You’ll be the on‑site company rep—watching over Hydrovac crews, checking backfilling work, helping subcontractors, and giving management clear updates.
  • Teamwork matters out here. You’ll help with repairs and troubleshooting and support operations across all assigned sites.
  • Documentation is part of the job, too. You’ll record operational data, complete monthly NORM, SPCC, and site inspections, and enter everything into the work order system to keep us in compliance and support overall operator excellence.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Pumper (prior directly related industry experience will be considered); minimum of 1 year of Operator experience preferred.
  • High priority on safety, including lock out, tag out, proper use of PPE, and safe lifting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge and experience with computer systems and mobile devices.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules, and after hour callouts.
Skills Every Operator Needs
  • Organized, dependable, and a team player.
  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high sense of urgency.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to exercise good judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professionalism when interacting with peers, customers, and vendors.
Work Environment – What to Expect in the Field
  • This is a hands on, physical role that takes place outdoors in all weather conditions—including the winds, cold snaps, and hot summers. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind the elements and takes pride in working in the field, you’ll fit right in.
  • You’ll be around industrial equipment daily and need to be comfortable climbing ladders and stairs, crawling, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling as part of normal tasks.
  • The job also involves regularly lifting up to 25 lbs (and occasionally up to 50 lbs), walking long distances, and entering confined spaces.
  • You’ll be in a company vehicle about 70% of the time.
  • Along with field work, you’ll use computers, monitor screens, and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Flexibility is key: shifts can include early mornings, late nights and after hour callouts.
  • You must be comfortable working around high pressure pipelines, hazardous chemicals, flammable products, high noise levels, and challenging driving conditions.
