Job summary

Goodnight Midstream in Midland, TX is hiring a Pump Technician for a hands-on role maintaining water management systems. You will operate, inspect, maintain and repair pumps, motors and related equipment at saltwater disposal facilities.

The ideal candidate has 2–4+ years of pump maintenance experience in oilfield or industrial settings, with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in vibration analysis and alignments. Overtime, site travel, and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4+ pump maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting experience in oilfield, saltwater management or industrial operations.

  • Carry out routine motor greasing, lubrication and oil changes per schedule.
  • Install, commission and calibrate pumps, motors and related equipment for optimal performance.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections and service reports.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Pump Technician, you’ll play a hands‑on, critical role in keeping our water management systems running safely and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, and related equipment at our saltwater disposal and pipeline facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vibration analysis using company‑owned diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct precise pump and motor alignments utilizing specialized alignment tools.
  • Carry out routine motor greasing, lubrication services, and H‑Pump oil changes per scheduled service intervals.
  • Install, commission, and calibrate pumps, motors, and associated equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs, including replacing or servicing seals, bearings, couplers, impellers, and thrust chambers as needed.
  • Oversee and assist with major maintenance projects such as motor swaps, pump swaps, and barrel changes.
  • Support HVAC preventive maintenance tasks, including coil cleaning, filter replacement, and other light maintenance work.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and service reports.
  • Conduct quality assurance and control tests to verify the proper operation and performance of equipment.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and troubleshoot operational issues as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Overnight travel to South Texas field locations approximately 10‑15% of the month.
Position Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • Minimum 2‑4+ pump maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting experience within oilfield, saltwater management or industrial operations.
  • Hands‑on experience performing pump alignments, vibration analysis, and equipment installation is required.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of pump, motor and hydraulic systems is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
Skills & Qualities

The ideal candidate will be highly dependable, safety conscientious and possess effective communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines is needed for this position.

Working Conditions

This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and around industrial equipment. Candidates must be able to climb ladders, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, and pull as part of routine tasks. The role requires regularly lifting up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs, as well as walking long distances and entering confined spaces. Operating a company vehicle will be necessary for at least 70% of the time.

The work environment includes exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain. Candidates must be comfortable working around high‑pressure pipelines, hazardous chemicals, and flammable products, with frequent exposure to high noise levels and adverse driving conditions. This position requires flexibility, as work may extend beyond normal business hours, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call‑outs. Additionally, employees will frequently use computers and monitoring systems for tracking and reporting tasks.
