Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED; commensurate experience accepted.
  • At least 5 years of relevant SWD/field experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Ability to work holidays, weekends, and on-call.
  • Must be able to operate in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain multiple SWD facilities under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot pumps, automation, tanks, valves, and pressure systems.
  • Perform inspections including pressure testing and leak checks.
  • Coordinate produced water truck offloads and scheduling.
  • Collect and analyze water samples; identify abnormal conditions.
  • Maintain logs, daily reports, and compliance records.
  • Mentor and train less-experienced team members.
  • Lead minor maintenance and coordinate with contractors.
  • Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and drills.
  • Respond to after-hours or emergency callouts.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary

This position plays a key role in maintaining system integrity, managing produced water volumes, and supporting field operations to ensure smooth and continuous disposal services.

Job Summary

The SWD (Salt Water Disposal) Operator III is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of saltwater disposal (SWD) facilities associated with natural gas production. This position plays a key role in maintaining system integrity, managing produced water volumes, and supporting field operations to ensure smooth and continuous disposal services. This role requires knowledge of job procedures and tools. Works under minimal supervision. Communicates information that frequently requires explanation or interpretation. Problems faced are generally complex and may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Due to the skills and experience required at this level, this role is required to mentor, train, and guide employees with less experience. Demonstrates integrity, accountability and transparency; upholds BKV standards, values and culture.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain multiple SWD facilities, ensuring optimal system performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and perform mechanical and process diagnostics on pumps, automation systems, tank levels, valves, and pressure systems.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine inspections, including pressure testing, leak detection, and equipment integrity checks.
  • Supervise and coordinate produced water truck offloads and scheduling.
  • Collect and analyze water samples; identify abnormal conditions that may affect operations or compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs, daily reports, compliance records, and site documentation.
  • Mentor, train, and guide team members with less experience to develop the team and enhance overall productivity
  • Lead minor maintenance and repair efforts and coordinate with maintenance crews or contractors for major issues.
  • Ensure that facilities meet all safety, environmental, and operational standards as required by internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in safety meetings, emergency response drills, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Respond to after-hours or emergency callouts as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading gauges, meters, and digital monitoring systems.
  • Strong understanding of SWD system design, operation, and regulations.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Understands how to use digital tools to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, including clear shift handoff and accurate reporting of operating conditions.

Education & Experience

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Location
  • Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin – BKV Fort Worth, Texas office.
Working Conditions
  • Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and non-scheduled callouts.
  • Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items over 20lbs.
Physical Demands
  • Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
  • Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
