Job summary

JusticeWorks YouthCare in Lehigh County seeks a Part Time SWAN Permanency Specialist to engage families and youth, gather data for profiles, and collaborate with local agencies, including schools and health providers.

Requirements include a Master’s or Bachelor’s in social work, criminal justice, psychology or related field with at least one year of direct care experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. JusticeWorks is 100% employee owned through ESOP.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or related field with a minimum of one year direct care experience or supervised practice in lieu of the experience requirement.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and access to a vehicle.
  • Pass current, applicable clearances.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Engage families and youth in order to gather pertinent data needed for profiles.
  • Interact with local Children and Youth Agencies as well as other providers, including schools, foster homes, mental health services, physical health providers, etc.
  • Provide/facilitate training to pre-adoptive families as required.
  • Attend court hearings and testify as required.
  • Complete specific training in Child Preparation, Child Profile, Child Specific Recruitment, and Family Profile Units of Service.
  • Attend trainings on trauma, grieving and other trainings related to assisting a child in the adoption process.
  • Meet all benchmarks as outlined by SWAN.
  • Attend all quarterly SWAN meetings as required of an affiliate agency.

JusticeWorks is looking for a Part Time SWAN Permanency Specialist immediately in Lehigh County. The qualified SWAN Permanency Specialist will be an independent, self-reliant person who appreciates being supported by a strong team.
