Job summary

Rapport International is seeking qualified interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our Nebraska clients in Lincoln. This independent contractor role offers flexible PRN hours and requires full bilingualism, strong communication, and familiarity with medical terminology.

You must have transportation for local appointments and access to a printer to manage vouchers and paperwork. Availability during typical service hours M-F 7AM-5PM is preferred, with additional language requirements

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Swahili or other languages
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
• Must maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• In-person interpreters only; must have transportation to attend appointments locally
• Access to a printer and ability to learn/use the online portal

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for Lincoln-area clients in Nebraska
• Support multiple languages on an as-needed PRN basis

Requirements

• Fully bilingual
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/ HIPPA compliance
• IN PERSON interpreters only, you must have transportation to attend appointments locally
• Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
• Must have access to a printer
• Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
• Background checks and drug screens required
• Schedule is PRN (as needed), part time (or less depending on languages spoken) and is flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences. However, applicants must have some availability M-F 7AM-5PM as this is when services are typically needed.

Please note, this is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken and client needs.
