Job summary

Soundwich is seeking a dedicated QA/packing associate to support aerospace packing operations. You will lead daily packing activities, verify quality with inspection devices, and ensure correct materials, pallet configuration, and load stability.

The role requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform basic computer tasks. You will follow company procedures and contribute to continual improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily packing activities across all pack areas.
• Ensure correct packaging materials, pallet configuration, and load stability.
• Perform Aerospace Resistance Weld Visual Inspection activities as a trained backup/alternate.
• Perform Aerospace Resistance Weld Destruct Testing activities as a trained backup/alternate.
• Review Daily Pack Schedule with St. Clair Production Supervisor and execute packing plan accordingly.
• Provide feedback to St. Clair Production Supervisor and Plant Manager to support continual improvement of shop floor processes.

Job description

• Motivation, i.e., helping Soundwich succeed within Job Classification Responsibilities
• Proficient in the use of applicable ERP System (e.g., PLEX) functions with respect to Job Classification Responsibilities
• Load/unload Materials/Product
• Catch, label, package, sort, and rework Product
• Effectively perform Quality Verifications with indicated Inspection Devices, including Visual Inspections (Master Competency Matrix, PLEX Control Plans (Checksheets)
• Maintain Hourly Rates set forth by Management
• Lead daily packing activities across all pack areas
• Ensure correct packaging materials, pallet configuration, and load stability
• Assist with physical inventory cycle counts when requested by Management
• Maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge of all Customer packing and handling requirements
• Lead by example in promoting safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism on the packing floor
• Review Daily Pack Schedule with St. Clair Production Supervisor and execute packing plan accordingly
• Provide feedback to St. Clair Production Supervisor and Plant Manager to support continual improvement of shop floor processes
• Understand and follow all Company Procedures pertaining to assigned tasks, and the potential consequences of departure from these Procedures
• Perform Aerospace Resistance Weld Visual Inspection activities as a trained backup/alternate in accordance with Procedures and Customer Requirements
• Perform Aerospace Resistance Weld Destruct Testing activities as a trained backup/alternate in accordance with applicable Procedures and Customer Requirements
• Knowledge of the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, all Company Policies, and the importance of conformance to Soundwich and Customer requirements
• Knowledge of the effects that nonconforming products have on our Customers
• Knowledge of the Environmental Policy, Environmental Objectives, all Safety Polices, and the importance of conformance to Soundwich and Regulatory requirements
• Aware of the Quality impacts of their work activities, their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance within the Quality System and the benefits of improved personal performance
• Aware of the Environmental and Safety impacts of their work activities, their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance within the Environmental and Safety System and the benefits of improved personal performance
• Aware of how to submit Quality, Safety, Environmental and Business-related questions or suggestions, and how initiate continual improvements
