Job summary

Woodward, Inc. is seeking skilled Operations Technicians for its Loves Park, IL campus on the 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs, 3pm–1:30am). Training starts on 1st shift with a later transition. You will support production of servo valves, actuators, fuel metering units, and related components, following SOPs and Lean principles.

Qualifications

• Previous assembly experience preferred.
• Proven mechanical aptitude with hands-on tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment performing assembly and/or testing.

Responsibilities

• Follow documented procedures to produce products using specified tools and equipment.
• Observe process variables, log daily operations, and escalate concerns as needed.
• Conduct inspections and tests to verify product accuracy and functionality.
• Maintain 5S standards; keep workstations clean and organized.

Woodward is looking to bring on skilled, motivated and driven Operations Technicians that are ready to showcase their talent. This role will provide support and operations in products such as servo valves, actuators, fuel metering units, specialty valves or pumps. Training shift will be on 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 7am - 3:30pm, for the first 2 weeks

Training starting week 3: 1st shift, M-Th 4:30am-3pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations: Follows documented procedures to accurately and efficiently produce products using specified tools and equipment. Flexes and supports the full product line in various processes/ capacities.
• Process: Observes and records key process variables to ensure consistency and quality in operations. Accurately logs daily operations and resolves or escalates concerns. Follows standard operating procedures.
• Quality: Conducts inspections and tests to verify the accuracy and functionality of products and records and maintains data per operating standards.
• Organization & Cleanliness: Adheres to 5S principles by keeping workstations clean, organized, and free of unnecessary items. Follows established guidelines to ensure tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Safety Mindset: Adheres to all established safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintains mindfulness of self and surrounding work area to promote a safe working environment.

Moderate physical activity requires agility and dexterity, including walking, standing, or bending; and lifting or moving objects. May be required to pass Near Vision and/or Color Vision examinations.

Successful candidates typically have:

• Previous assembly experience preferred
• Proven mechanical aptitude
• Experience in a manufacturing industry performing assembly and/or testing in on similar components
• Proficiency with and in using a variety of hand tools and inspection and measurement equipment
• Strong knowledge and/or capability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
