Job summary

Pivot Energy in Chicago, IL seeks a senior engineering leader to spearhead Development Engineering, Project Engineering, and Grid Integration. You will design a scalable screening engine for a 1GW+ pipeline, delivering ~300 MW/yr in solar and storage assets, using SBoD and AI-driven design tools.

As a Certified B Corporation, you will report to the Chief Development Officer, align with strategy, and provide data-driven pipeline health reports to the Board and investors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering management and/or operations experience.
• 7+ years in solar, project development, or related renewable energy.
• Experience leading project engineering across multiple solar project types.
• Knowledge of electrical distribution, substations, and utility design practices.
• Extensive knowledge of solar and battery storage technologies.
• Ability to lead automation and grid modeling tool implementation.
• Strong communication to senior leadership and investors.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a P.E. license.

Responsibilities

• Lead Development Engineering and Project Engineering teams to optimize 40+ year assets and maximize lifecycle value.
• Oversee Grid Integration with predictive modeling to identify high-probability interconnection locations and de-risk pipeline.
• Develop and monitor annual objectives, budgets, analytics, and professional development across the engineering teams.
