Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking an SVP, Operations Unit Manager to lead a production-management team overseeing residential mortgage file reviews for pre-purchase compliance and quality. You will drive productivity and cost-effective process improvements while meeting regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities include monitoring service levels, reporting, and presenting trends to leadership. You will hire, coach, and develop staff to achieve department goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related experience in Mortgage Operations or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending; including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Intermediate to advanced experience mortgage software (Encompass).
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

What you'll do:

As the SVP, Operations Unit Manager you'll lead a unit of Production Managers overseeing teams responsible for the pre-purchase review of correspondent residential mortgage loan files to ensure that the file contains all required documentation, meets acceptable regulatory standards, and complies with established guidelines prior to purchase. You'll drive your team to achieve productivity and quality goals. You'll constantly analyze current process for ways to increase productivity and quality while cutting costs.
