Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of institutional real estate experience (retail/mixed-use).
• Proven track record in sourcing, structuring and closing complex transactions.
• Experience with joint ventures, recapitalizations, and institutional partnerships.
• Strong understanding of underwriting, due diligence, and transaction execution.
• Established network within the real estate and capital markets community.
• Ability to leverage existing relationships and develop new ones.
• Experience reviewing financial models and validating investment assumptions.
• Strong leadership presence with mentorship experience.

MHW Search has exclusively partnered with a well-established Real Estate Private Equity firm that has developed and invested in over 30 million square feet nationally in Mixed-use, Retail and Multifamily. We are currently searching for an SVP of Investments/Acquisitions to join the team.

This is a high-impact leadership role designed for an individual who can operate at the intersection of research, complex retail and mixed-use assets, and capital markets. As investment activity continues to return to the retail sector, the firm is focused on positioning itself to capitalize on favorable supply and demand dynamics and expand its national platform.

This individual will lead the acquisitions function, responsible for identifying, sourcing, capitalizing, and executing retail and mixed-use investment opportunities across the U.S. In addition, the role will have the opportunity to originate advisory and service engagements with institutional owners where direct acquisitions are not available but strategic value can still be created.

Key Responsibilities

Acquisitions

• Develop and execute a targeted acquisitions strategy across retail and mixed-use assets
• Identify opportunities through market insight, relationships, and proactive sourcing
• Partner with capital providers to structure and capitalize transactions
• Lead negotiations, due diligence, and closing processes from start to finish
• Collaborate with internal teams across leasing, development, asset management, and finance to develop investment theses and business plans

Strategic Advisory / Institutional Engagement

• Identify opportunities to engage institutional owners through advisory, leasing, asset management, and development services
• Convert strategic relationships into long-term partnerships
• Work cross-functionally to deliver value across multiple service lines

Relationship Management & Market Presence

• Serve as a senior representative of the platform to institutional investors, owners, and capital partners
• Maintain and expand relationships across the real estate ecosystem
• Drive new business through both existing relationships and new connections
• Position the firm as a preferred partner for retail and mixed-use opportunities
• Report directly to senior investment leadership
• Lead and mentor a lean team, including analyst-level support
• Collaborate across internal functions to drive execution and growth
• Contribute to the continued buildout and scaling of the platform
• Anticipate market trends and identify opportunities ahead of competitors
• Foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners
• Focus on long-term value creation and strategic growth

Candidate Profile

• 10-15+ years of experience within institutional real estate, with a focus on retail and/or mixed-use
• Demonstrated track record of sourcing, structuring, and executing complex transactions
