Job summary

Smithsonian Enterprises seeks a Senior Vice President to lead Licensed Products and Smithsonian Books, guiding licensing strategy, publishing operations, and brand stewardship across the Institution.

You will manage P&L, budgets, and partnerships with museums, agencies, and vendors, ensuring products reflect Smithsonian values while driving growth and diversification. Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least 15 years of related experience in licensing, partnership management, and product development.
• Experience working with cultural institutions or heritage brands is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop long-range strategic plans and manage contracts and rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, strategic direction, and accountability for Licensed Products and Books divisions, including P&L and budgeting.
• Serve as primary liaison between SE, museums, and SI leadership, driving deal execution and program reporting.
• Develop and implement licensing and publishing strategies to monetize Smithsonian assets while upholding scholarly integrity.
