Job summary

BNY Mellon seeks a Senior Vice President, Counterparty Credit Risk Manager to join the Credit Risk team in New York City. You will lead analysis across traditional and alternative asset managers, driving risk appetite and monitoring programs.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll review complex exposures, influence front‑office decisions, and mentor junior staff while upholding rigorous underwriting standards in a fast‑paced market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or another relevant discipline is required.
• MBA, CFA, or Series 7/63 preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in counterparty credit risk or buy‑side roles.
• Experience underwriting or managing credit exposure to hedge funds and asset managers.
• Strong understanding of capital markets products and lending practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Experience with ISDA, CSA, GMRA, prime brokerage, and lending covenants.

Responsibilities

• Manage counterparty credit risk across a portfolio of traditional and alternative asset management clients.
• Lead 2LoD credit underwriting processes and ongoing portfolio management.
• Assess risk appetite and limits for fund financing lines and subscription facilities.
• Review and monitor exposures from capital markets and lending products.
• Lead portfolio reviews, including stress analysis and scenario assessments.
• Identify emerging risks and escalate exceptions to risk appetite.
• Collaborate with front office, legal, documentation, and risk stakeholders.
• Drive underwriting standards and monitoring processes; support junior staff.
