This hands-on role requires strong judgment, collaboration with front office and legal, and mentoring junior staff while advancing consistent underwriting and risk practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting required.
• MBA, CFA, or Series 7/63 preferred.
• 7+ years in counterparty credit risk or related buy-side roles.
• Experience underwriting credit exposure to hedge funds and regulated funds.

Responsibilities

• Manage counterparty credit risk across a portfolio of traditional and alternative asset management clients.
• Assess and recommend counterparty risk appetite and limits, including fund financing lines.
• Review, approve, and monitor exposures from capital markets and lending products.
• Lead periodic portfolio reviews with stress analysis and scenario-based assessment.
• Identify emerging risks and escalate issues to risk appetite.
• Collaborate with front office, legal, documentation, and other risk stakeholders.
• Drive consistency in underwriting standards and monitoring processes.
• Provide guidance to junior team members on analysis, documentation, and judgment.
