Job description

Let's begin! SVP, Communications, Moody's Analytics (15222)

At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we’re advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that not only understands complexity but responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping our clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.

If you are excited about this opportunity but do not meet every single requirement, you still may be a great fit for this role or other open roles. We are seeking candidates who model our values: invest in every relationship, lead with curiosity, champion diverse perspectives, turn inputs into actions, and uphold trust through integrity.

About the Team

Corporate Affairs shapes and protects Moody's global reputation and voice, spanning enterprise communications, brand, media relations and executive visibility for one of the world's leading integrated risk assessment firms.

About the Role

Moody's Analytics (MA) is looking for a Senior Vice President, Communications to lead the communications strategy for one of Moody's fastest-growing businesses. This role owns the full communications remit for Moody's Analytics: promoting our products and thought leadership externally, and building executive and employee communications that keep a large, matrixed organization aligned and informed.

You will set the narrative for how Moody's Analytics shows up in the market and with its own people, build and lead a team to execute against it, and work as a close partner to the MA leadership team. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior executives and a mandate to shape how a core part of Moody's is understood, both inside and outside the company.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve the communications strategy for Moody's Analytics, aligning product marketing, thought leadership and executive visibility into a single, coherent narrative.

  • Lead external communications for MA's product suite, working with product and marketing leaders to build media, analyst and industry visibility for key launches and initiatives.

  • Direct MA's internal and executive communications, including messaging from the MA leadership team to the broader organization.

  • Coordinate with MCO Reputation to ensure MA's thought leadership, including insurance-related content, is consistent with enterprise positioning.

  • Build, manage and develop a team spanning internal, executive and external communications; set standards for quality, speed and judgment.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to MA's senior leaders on messaging, positioning and reputational risk.

  • Partner with the Global Head of Communications and peer function leads across Corporate Affairs on enterprise-wide initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of progressive communications experience, including leadership of a team, ideally in financial services, technology or a comparably regulated, fast-moving industry.

  • A track record building both external narrative (media, thought leadership) and internal/executive communications programs at scale.

  • Excellent judgment and executive presence; comfortable advising senior leaders and operating with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Strong writer and editor with the ability to translate complex, technical subject matter into clear, credible messaging.

  • Experience operating in a matrixed global organization, with the ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is$180,300.00-$261,450.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus.
