Job description

The SVP, Commercial Services is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving profitable revenue performance across the Gravity Haus portfolio. The role provides strategic leadership and accountability across Revenue Management, Group Sales, Reservations, and Commercial Analytics, with four direct reports: the VP, Revenue Management; Sr. Group Sales Manager; Group Reservation Manager; and Revenue Analyst.

In this role you'll set the commercial strategy across these functions and be accountable for their performance and results. This includes establishing the overall approach to pricing, forecasting, distribution, demand strategy, group business, reservations, and commercial analytics, while ensuring these functions operate as an integrated commercial organization rather than as separate teams.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for a hospitality commercial expert who can move between strategy and execution. The SVP will provide strategic direction and accountability to the VP, Revenue Management and Sr. Group Sales Manager while personally engaging in the highest‑impact commercial decisions, portfolio performance, market opportunities, and cross‑functional priorities.

The role will translate company and portfolio goals into clear commercial strategies, measurable targets, and property‑level actions that drive profitable revenue growth.

The SVP will partner closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing & Growth, Membership, Product & Digital, and property leadership to ensure commercial priorities are aligned across the business. Marketing and Membership remain separate functional areas, with this role serving as a strategic partner to connect demand generation, direct booking, loyalty, and customer growth to overall commercial performance.

Reporting to the CEO, the SVP will build and lead the commercial organization, establish clear accountability and operating rhythms, and develop the systems, processes, and capabilities needed to support Gravity Haus as the portfolio continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the portfolio‑wide commercial strategy across Revenue Management, Pricing, Distribution, Group Sales, Reservations, and Commercial Analytics.
  • Translate company goals into property‑level commercial strategies, targets, and action plans that drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Lead commercial forecasting and performance reviews, partnering with Finance and property leadership to identify opportunities, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Establish a consistent commercial operating rhythm, performance expectations, and accountability structure across the portfolio.
Revenue Management & Distribution
  • Set the overall Revenue Management strategy across the portfolio, including pricing, forecasting, inventory, segmentation, demand, and need‑period strategies.
  • Provide strategic direction and accountability to the VP, Revenue Management while remaining actively engaged in high‑impact pricing, market, and portfolio decisions.
  • Optimize channel mix, distribution strategy, and pricing to improve occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and profitability.
  • Oversee commercial technology and vendor relationships supporting Revenue Management and distribution, identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and performance.
  • Provide strategic direction and performance accountability to the Sr. Group Sales Manager and Group Reservation Manager.
  • Establish clear commercial goals and priorities for Group Sales and Reservations and ensure alignment with overall portfolio strategy.
  • Align Group Sales and Reservations with Revenue Management around demand, pricing, inventory, conversion, and profitability.
  • Monitor group pipeline, sales performance, reservation trends, and conversion to identify opportunities and ensure commercial targets are being achieved.
Analytics & Decision Support
  • Lead the Revenue Analyst in developing accurate forecasting, reporting, and actionable commercial insights.
  • Establish a clear commercial scorecard and reporting cadence across portfolio and property performance.
  • Use data, market trends, and competitive insights to inform commercial decisions and prioritize the highest‑value opportunities.
  • Continuously improve the quality, accessibility, and use of commercial data to support faster and better decision‑making.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Operations and Finance to translate commercial strategy into property‑level execution and profitable business performance.
  • Partner with the SVP, Marketing & Growth to align demand‑generation priorities, property needs, and commercial goals.
  • Partner with Membership leadership to leverage member demand, direct booking, and repeat‑stay opportunities.
  • Work with Product & Digital and other cross‑functional leaders on systems, customer journey, and commercial priorities.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive hospitality commercial experience, including significant leadership across Revenue Management, pricing, distribution, sales, and broader commercial strategy.
  • Multi‑property hotel leadership experience, with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue performance, profitability, and market share.
  • Deep understanding of hotel economics, forecasting, pricing, distribution, sales, and commercial performance.
  • Proven ability to lead leaders, develop talent, build high‑performing teams, and establish clear accountability.
  • Strong analytical and financial judgment, with the ability to turn market data, forecasts, pipelines, and performance results into clear business decisions.
  • Experience with hospitality commercial technology, including revenue management, PMS, CRM, distribution, and sales systems.
  • Strong executive communication and cross‑functional leadership skills, with the ability to build alignment and influence across an organization.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to balance big‑picture thinking with hands‑on execution in a fast‑moving, growing organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, finance, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the Gravity Haus portfolio and to industry events, owner meetings, and priority markets.
