Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support organizational goals and long-term growth.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and revenue growth.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to support decision-making.
- Evaluate business opportunities, investments, partnerships, and new service offerings.
Accounting and Controller Functions
- Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
- Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee tax filings, reporting requirements, and organizational compliance obligations.
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and financial record retention.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Establish and maintain effective internal control systems.
- Monitor organizational financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
- Support enterprise risk management initiatives and business continuity planning.
- Present financial and risk management reports to executive leadership and the Board.
Human Resources Oversight
- Provide executive oversight of the Human Resources function.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices align with organizational objectives and employment laws.
- Support talent acquisition, employee development, compensation, benefits administration, and performance management initiatives.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
- Oversee workforce planning and organizational development efforts.
Marketing Oversight
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of marketing and communications activities.
- Review marketing plans, budgets, campaigns, and performance metrics.
- Ensure marketing initiatives align with organizational goals and brand standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to support business development, member engagement, and growth strategies.
- Evaluate marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
Board and Leadership Support
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic analyses to the Board of Directors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
- Support Board committees as assigned.
- Participate in organizational planning, policy development, and governance activities.
- Lead and mentor accounting, HR, and marketing team members.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or related field preferred.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior management or executive leadership role.
- Experience within a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), credit union, financial institution, or related industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing accounting operations, budgeting, audits, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing Human Resources and/or Marketing functions preferred.

Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly oversees Accounting, Human Resources, and Marketing personnel and may supervise additional administrative or operational functions as assigned.
