Glendive Public Schools is seeking dependable and caring individuals to serve asSubstitute Bus Aides—stepping in when extra help is needed to keep our students safe and supported. If you're flexible, great with kids, and ready to jump in when called, this is a great way to make a meaningful impact (even if it's not every day).
What You'll Do (When You're Called In)
- Help supervise and support student behavior on the school bus
- Assist the driver with safe loading and unloading of students
- Support the driver during routes and activities as needed
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly bus environment
- Be a calm, helpful presence for students of all ages
What We're Looking For
- Dependable and flexible—ready to step in when needed
- Ability to pass background check
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to follow directions and work closely with a driver
- Comfort working with all students, including those with special needs
- Ability to stay calm, handle challenges, and maintain confidentiality
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the bus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Active role on a moving school bus
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Direct role in supporting student safety and well-being
