Job summary

Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) is seeking a Sustainment/Product Development Lead for the Horizon 2 program to support the U.S. Space Force in developing and deploying warfighter capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 14+ years in space systems, or 4 extra years in lieu of degree
• Experience in space operations
• Experience developing lifecycle sustainment plans
• Experience developing technical orders
• Understanding of space vehicle, ground system, or satellite sustainment challenges
• Security clearance: in-scope T5 and SCI eligibility; Continuous Vetting
• Willing to be nominated for SCI/SAP access and polygraph as required
• Proficiency reviewing TOs, training plans, MTAs/LORAs, PTDs, IETMs, FMEA

Description

SAIC's Horizon 2 program is seeking our latest Sustainment/Product Development Lead to serve as a subject matter expert in support to the U.S. Space Force (USSF) in developing and deploying warfighter capabilities within the Program Executive Office's Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power portfolio. As our Sustainment/Product Development Lead, you will be responsible for system sustainment to maximize readiness while managing costs. Key responsibilities include developing Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), implementing Product Support Strategies, conducting Business Case Analyses, and managing product support contracts, as required, that advance the USSF. You will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders (Program Managers, Contracting Officers, System Engineers, and external/partner organizations) working in sunny El Segundo, CA.

• Sustainment planning: develop, update, and implement comprehensive Product Support Strategies within the Life Cycle Sustainment Plan.
• Performance Management: define and manage performance outcomes (reliability, availability, maintainability) and ensure compliance.
• Logistical and Technical Analysis: conduct technical analysis, manage data, and provide logistics support to optimize system performance and reduce total ownership costs.
• Stakeholder Coordination: act as a liaison between program managers, engineers, and military users to resolve operational issues and ensure readiness.
• Risk Mitigation: identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure requirements are integrated into maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

This is you:

• Bachelor's Degree and 14+ years experience with space systems or 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree
• Must have experience in space operations
• Experience developing lifecycle sustainment plans
• Experience developing technical orders
• Understanding of space vehicle, ground system, or satellite sustainment challenges
• Proficiency reviewing and approving:
  • Technical Orders (TOs) – familiarity with Air Force TO system (AFTO) or equivalent service standards preferred
  • Training Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs)
  • Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD)
  • Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)Experience with Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analysis
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM)
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) principles per EIA-649
• Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Vetting program (if applicable)
• Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Access Programs and consent to a polygraph examination (as required)
