Job summary
Shield AI is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer, Sustainment Analytics, to lead data-driven sustainment decisions for fielded aircraft systems. You will integrate maintenance, FRACAS, failure and repair history, supply-chain data, and fleet trends to optimize readiness, repair throughput, and total lifecycle cost.
You will partner with Fleet Support Engineering, Reliability, and Manufacturing to ensure sustainment decisions improve availability, affordability, and long-term system performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years in industrial engineering, sustainment, logistics, or related defense/hardware environments.
- Experience using maintenance, reliability, inventory, and supply-chain data for quantitative analyses.
Responsibilities
- Own sustainment decision analysis for fielded aircraft systems and spares optimization.
- Build models linking reliability, maintenance demand, inventory, and cost to readiness outcomes.
- Develop repair-versus-replace and repair-network business cases with data-driven insights.
- Analyze maintenance/reliability data to identify downtime drivers and readiness risks.
- Develop demand forecasts and provisioning strategies using failure rates and deployment needs.
- Perform staffing and capacity analyses to improve repair throughput and availability.
- Evaluate investments in support equipment and repair capability with ROI and lifecycle value.
