Job summary

BD is seeking an Engineer II to support sustaining R&D and value engineering for medical devices. You will work with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to implement design changes and improve manufacturability while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3–5 years of medical device engineering experience, with strong analytical and communication skills and a track record of cost optimization and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in medical devices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven background in VAVE projects and ongoing engineering support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to regulatory standards and quality processes.
• Proven track record of implementing design changes and improvements.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist sustaining engineering efforts for products on the market.
• Complete VAVE projects focused on cost reduction and efficiency.
• Develop and implement design changes to improve manufacturability and quality.
• Support material qualifications, supplier changes, and substitutions.
• Perform engineering analyses, root cause investigations, and risk assessments.
• Author and maintain design control documentation and reports.
• Support DV, DVal, and testing activities.
• Collaborate across groups to ensure project success and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities for product cost savings and continuity improvements.
• Drive projects to meet quality, schedule, and business objectives.
