BW Papersystems, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Leader – Sustaining Engineering in Sheboygan to lead a team of 5–7 engineers. You will own post-release support for folding carton machinery, drive root-cause analysis, and coordinate with operations, supply chain, and service to meet business deadlines.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, 5+ years in capital equipment, and proven leadership.

Competenze

• B.S. degree in Engineering (mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, systems, industrial).
• Minimum of 5 years of capital equipment experience including significant leadership experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to apply structured problem-solving to complex processes, equipment and manufacturing issues.
• Ability to drive systematic improvement including standardization of documents, processes, materials, change control, etc.
• Champions Lean tools and Lean culture in engineering.
• Initiate and drive cost reduction activities.
• Provide global technical support.
• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization professionally.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.

Mansioni

• Coordinate and manage daily sustaining engineering activities across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Technical Service, and customers.
• Serve as the primary engineering owner for production and field issues after product release and handoff from New Product Design Engineering.
• Lead and develop the Sustaining Mechanical Engineering team, coordinating with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and product engineering resources.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, sustaining workflows, prioritization, and change-control processes.
• Act as the principal engineering contact for technical inquiries involving released products and modifications.
• Support operations and engineering requirements in safety, quality, service, and productivity improvements.
• Engage engineering teams and customers to address trending issues.
• Analyze current state processes and develop improvement plans.
• Lead sustaining projects targeting safety, quality, reliability, and cost reduction.
• Promote Lean through coaching and development of associates.
