Job summary

Parker Chomerics in the United States (Woburn, MA) seeks a Sustaining Engineering Lead to advance localization and sustaining initiatives for conductive polymers and elastomers. You will lead qualification testing, review second-source materials, and coordinate with R&D, process engineering, and manufacturing to meet project goals.

The role requires 4–6 years in polymer-based material development, a BS in engineering, and leadership experience.

Qualifications

• BS in an Engineering field with 4-6 years experience in polymer-based material development.
• MS in Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 4-6 years experience.
• Experience leading a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
• Familiarity with polymer and elastomer process techniques (high shear mixing, milling, molding, extrusion).
• Proficiency with DOE and statistical analysis tools; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to support product development and qualification, emphasizing raw material sustainability.
• Manage projects and direct reports while conducting hands-on laboratory work.
• Support localization and qualification trials in coordination with operations.
• Develop hypotheses, design experiments, and plan studies to understand material, product, or process performance.
• Develop materials, test methods, and QC measures for new materials and processes.
• Provide root-cause analysis for manufacturing and quality issues.
• Operate a wide range of polymer analytical and processing equipment.
• Collaborate across levels of the organization and build a network of peers.
• Promote safety and compliance with EH&S initiatives.
