Job summary

Coburn Technologies is seeking a Sustaining Engineer/Mechanical Engineer in South Windsor, CT to support existing product lines, troubleshoot shop-floor issues, and drive improvements in manufacturability and reliability.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and service teams, participate in corrective actions, and help implement documentation and standard work across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

Job DetailsJob Location: SOUTH WINDSOR, CT 06074We’re Coburn Technologies - a global leader in precision optical manufacturing - and we’re looking for a Sustaining Engineer/Mechanical Engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, learning how products are built, and helping manufacturing processes run better every day.

This role is a great fit for an engineer who has a solid manufacturing foundation and is ready to grow their skills, take on increasing responsibility, and make a real impact on the shop floor.

What You’ll Do - Sustaining Engineer/Mechanical Engineer
  • Support engineering changes and product improvements across existing product lines.

Qualifications
What You Bring- Sustaining Engineer/Mechanical Engineer
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 3–5 yearsof experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of product development, quality systems, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Infor SyteLine is a plus, but not required).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
  • A collaborative mindset and a practical, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach.
