Job summary

Johnson Matthey in Smithfield, PA is seeking a Production Line Operator to contribute to our mission of sustainable technology. You will inspect, load, package, label and box diesel catalyst products in line with production plans.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to policies, and accurate identification of parts. You will support production flow and participate in 5S housekeeping to maintain a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, safety procedures and quality standards.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify product defects or deviations.
• Willingness to train and support new team members.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, loading, packaging, labeling and boxing diesel catalyst products in line with production plans
• Following all Johnson Matthey Health, Safety and Life Saving Policies, including electrical and mechanical isolation and safe operation of machinery
• Visually inspecting products to identify defects, damage or non-conformance and ensuring correct segregation and traceability
• Handling and maintaining accurate identification of parts, substrates, cartons and skids by lot number
• Supporting production flow by completing assigned tasks from the Shift Supervisor or Process Control Engineer
• Participating in housekeeping and 5S activities to maintain a safe, organized production environment

Skills
