Schedule:Monday-Friday. Part-time,10- 20 hours per week.Ifin school, will work withschool schedule. (REMOTE)
Hourly Rate: $19.84 to $25.80

Job Description Summary

This position reports directly to the Environment and Climate Director, Science. The primary responsibility of the Sustainable Produce Packaging Assistant is for the intern to support our Sustainable Produce Packaging Alignment (SPPA). This role will assist in researching sustainable packaging solutions, evaluating supplier options and conducting cost-benefit, LCA, GHG and other analyses. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to both strategic planning, operational implementation, and the development of outreach materials for key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or recent graduate from university
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Interest in sustainability and circular economy principles
• Interest in fresh produce and agriculture
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to travel 8-12 days out of the year

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct market research on sustainable packaging trends and materials
• Support development and deployment of outreach materials and guidelines for sustainable packaging
• Assist in workshop and working group management to include support in preparing workshop materials, agendas, and participant communications
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and WG Science team
• Maintain a HIPAA-compliant workstation and utilize appropriate security techniques to ensure HIPAA-required protection of all confidential/protected client data.
• Maintain and service safety equipment (e.g., smoke detector, fire extinguisher, first aid kit
• Maintain a clean DMV record and the ability to travel to locations throughout the U.S. (mainly California and Arizona) up to 20% of the time.
• Final report on experience at the conclusion of to be provided to Western Growers within 30 days of completion of
