Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive repository of sustainable energy resources for UNICEF staff and partners
  • Implement and refine advocacy strategies to promote sustainable energy policies and engage stakeholders
  • Support policy development by analyzing current policies and recommending improvements
  • Conduct internal workshops to build capacity among UNICEF staff on sustainable energy programming
  • Develop knowledge products and tools demonstrating UNICEF's approach to sustainable energy for children
Qualifications
  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or higher) in renewable energy, climate change, sustainable development, or a relevant technical field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of work experience in developing or implementing sustainable energy initiatives
  • Expert knowledge in sustainable energy programming, communications, and advocacy
  • Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in market assessments and stakeholder engagement related to sustainable energy
  • Familiarity with financing mechanisms such as renewable energy certificates and carbon credits
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training materials and workshops
  • Previous involvement in child-sensitive policy advocacy efforts
  • Understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relation to energy and child welfare
