The role ensures environmental compliance through material collection, segregation, processing, documentation, and shipment of recyclables, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams. You will manage recycling equipment, monitor material flow, and identify opportunities to reduce landfill disposal.

Qualifications

• High school education or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, process, and prepare recyclable materials for shipment.
• Operate recycling equipment and monitor material flow.
• Coordinate pickup schedules with recycling vendors and service providers.
• Verify material weights and maintain shipping documentation.
• Identify opportunities to reduce landfill disposal and improve recycling rates.
• Support implementation of waste reduction projects and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct periodic waste stream assessments.
• Recommend process improvements that improve recycling efficiency and reduce costs.
• Perform routine inspections of recycling equipment and coordinate maintenance requests.
• Maintain housekeeping standards around recycling and waste management areas.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
