Job summary

We seek a Sustainability Program Manager to grow ESG offerings across Packaging, Facility, and Print, combining entrepreneurial energy with revenue growth inside current accounts and new prospects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with C-suite and line-of-business leaders.
  • Work with Sales to identify customers for the Sustainability Innovation program.
  • Identify customers prioritizing Sustainability using assessments and research.
  • Communicate Veritiv’s Sustainability value to customers and sellers.
  • Coordinate responses to customer requests on Sustainability.

Full job description: Engineering background, or current on FDA environmental regs/ sustainability practices for plastics. Customer facing with Sales for product compliance.

Job Purpose

Our Sustainability Program Manager will be responsible for growing Veritiv’s Environmental, Social & Governance service offerings inclusive of Packaging, Facility, and Print solutions. This role will have an entrepreneurial mindset and will identify opportunities and direct revenue growth efforts within our current client base as well as originate business from new accounts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop C-suite and line-of-business relationships within customer organizations.
  • Work with Sales team to identify and qualify customers for the Sustainability Innovation program.
  • Identify and target customers that value Sustainability utilizing assessment tools and company research.
  • Communicate to customers and sellers on the value of Sustainability in everything we do, and demonstrate Veritiv’s capabilities.
  • Coordinate responses to customers’ requests regarding Sustainability.
  • Provide expertise working with customer and sales to determine optimal solution to meet customers’ goals regarding Sustainability.
  • Interface with Legal, Sales, Category Management, Suppliers, Customers and 3rd Party Qualifiers on product compliance and sustainability topics.
  • Periodically coach sales and sales support teams in regulatory and sustainability matters.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • A skilled advocate and communicator; able to work in an ever-changing and sometimes ambiguous regulatory and business landscape.
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • In-depth and up-to-date knowledge of existing and proposed laws and industry standards that will have an impact on business practices (preferred).
  • Ability to independently research regulatory issues and lead/influence/educate resolution or opportunity.
  • Working knowledge of a broad array of applicable U.S. federal, state‑specific, and international regulatory requirements.
Work Experience
  • 5-10 years of related job experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
  • Strong planning and organization skills are required.
Education
  • Master's Degree Preferred
