Job summary

CR&R Incorporated is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead municipal recycling, organics, and waste diversion programs in California. This role focuses on driving SB 1383 compliance and collaborating with city agencies to meet diversion and greenhouse gas reduction goals.

You will manage programs across residential, commercial, and multi-family customers, oversee outreach, and develop a team of Sustainability and Outreach Specialists, while engaging with municipal staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Environmental Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with municipal solid waste, recycling, organics processing, or environmental consulting preferred.
• Strong public speaking, project management, and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead sustainability strategies that support municipal franchise agreements and diversion goals.
• Manage municipal recycling, organics, food recovery, and contamination reduction programs.
• Serve as the primary company representative to municipal staff, city councils, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead outreach and education programs for residential, commercial, and multi-family customers.
• Supervise and develop a team of Sustainability and Outreach Specialists.
