ASR Group Sustainability Engineer Job Description

ASR Group, the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, is seeking a Sustainability Engineer to support its mission to become the most sustainable sugar refining business globally. The role involves supporting ESG/Sustainability frameworks, driving sustainability KPIs, and fostering a culture of sustainability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as a change agent for ESG efforts at the site.
  2. Develop and implement the site’s Sustainability/ESG framework and plans.
  3. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities and communicate outcomes.
  4. Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce resource use and environmental footprint, including targets like a 5% reduction in CO2 emissions every 2 years and exceeding Group GHG reduction goals.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external experts on complex sustainability projects.
  6. Manage sustainability certifications and third-party audits.
  7. Develop voluntary carbon market programs and ensure proper training and documentation.
  8. Track, validate, and report ESG data regularly.
  9. Coordinate with marketing and CSR teams for stakeholder communications.
  10. Support community engagement and social responsibility activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Environmental/Social Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sustainable development, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards (GRI, ISO, GHG Protocol, etc.) and validation processes.
  • Experience with management systems, risk assessments, and project facilitation.

Additional Details
