Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University is actively seeking a Sustainability Engineer to lead decarbonization initiatives at the Homewood campus. You will identify energy conservation measures, perform audits, and guide projects from feasibility to implementation, collaborating with facilities staff, contractors, and end users.

Maintain alignment with energy codes and best practices while ensuring performance and occupant comfort.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field.
  • Five years of experience with major building mechanical and electrical systems, preferably with HVAC, BAS, and EMS.
  • Strong background in design and field experience with major building mechanical systems, including lab spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Homewood campus decarbonization efforts at all levels.
  • Recommends retro-commissioning and auditing of building envelopes, systems and controls to minimize energy consumption.
  • Performs energy audits to identify ECMs and forecast energy savings.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical reports comparing energy usage and costs to highlight reduction opportunities.
  • Oversees project budgets between $8M-$20M and presents viable energy projects for approval.
