Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking a proactive sustainability professional to develop and execute the environmental strategy and roadmap across planning, engineering, construction, operations, and corporate decisions. You will drive programs to reduce greenhouse gas, improve water stewardship, circularity, and resilience while embedding sustainability in capital projects and operations.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating EHS and sustainability into project planning, design, construction, operations, procurement, and decision-making.
• Strong project and program management skills across cross-functional initiatives.
• Commitment to excellence with strong personal accountability.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask without compromising quality or timelines.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, greenhouse gas accounting, circular economy, biodiversity, water stewardship, or sustainable infrastructure practices.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, OneDrive, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the environmental sustainability strategy and roadmap.
• Partner with engineering, operations, construction, supply chain to integrate sustainability into project planning and decision-making.
• Support EHS project reviews for sustainability opportunities and requirements.
• Develop, monitor, and scale programs to achieve environmental goals (GHG reduction, waste minimization, biodiversity, water stewardship, circularity).
• Support Sustainability by Design with green infrastructure, lifecycle thinking, and resiliency in planning and development.
• Coordinate Envision/LEED efforts on large capital projects, manage documentation, and assist in certification.
• Lead collection, management, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data for performance tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with EHS data owners to improve data quality and governance.
• Develop business cases, reports, presentations, and executive briefings communicating objectives, progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Manage and develop a team of sustainability professionals; set goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
• Research new sustainability practices, technologies, and regulatory developments for continuous improvement.
• Lead employee sustainability engagement initiatives, trainings, and communications to foster environmental stewardship across the organization.
